QME Study Guide

Overview:

  1. The QME flashcards contains over 250 questions and answers covering all of the topics that California's Division of Workers' Compensation requires for passing the QME Exam.

These  are not ordinary PowerPoint flashcards, but an interactive tool. The interactivity of this platform will enhance your learning experience by  harnessing four powerful learning tactics: active recall, metacognition, spaced repetition, and interleaving practice.  When you click to  reveal the answer to each question, you will be prompted to rate how  well you know that piece of material from 1 (lowest) to 5 (perfectly). The questions that you rate lowest will then be served up to you more  often until your recall is well enough to score it higher.

There are 2 separate slide decks

  1. Deck 1 is dedicated to learning the most common acronyms and definitions
  2. Deck 2 is Q&A (which includes some of the acronyms as well)

You can choose if the cards are served to you at "Random" or in order (which the platform calls "Progressive" on that toggle).

You can also choose to mix both decks together as you are studying, or just one or the other.

Topics Covered:

  • History of Worker's Comp
  • Labor Codes that Govern Medicolegal Exams
  • Case Law: Almarez Guzman, Escobedo, Benson
  • Report Writing Components
  • Med-legal Concepts (Such as Apportionment, Causation, Disability)
  • And more
